DISCIPLES IN A DIGITAL WORLD Acts 2:42-47
3
WHO IS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS? One who... 1 – believes and trusts Him 2 – loves and worships Him 3 – is sold out to Him; everything banked in Him 4 – is fully committed to His Core Commitments as seen in Acts 2:42-47
4
THE FOUR CORE COMMITMENTS Acts 2:42 1 – “...the apostles’ teaching...” Learning the truths of the Bible, and the implications of those truths 2 – “...the fellowship...” More than socializing, but making space in our lives for others, and space for their lives in ours; doing life together
5
THE FOUR CORE COMMITMENTS Acts 2:42 3 – “...the breaking of bread...” Sharing in the Lord’s Supper; communing with Him every time we break bread together 4 – “...the prayers...” Thanksgiving, praise, worship, knowledge, wisdom, requests

OUR PROFILE QUESTIONS 1.How does our use of digital technology / social media help us learn, or teach, the truths of the Bible for ourselves or others? 2.How does our use of digital technology / social media help us be in fellowship with other believers? How do those media help us “do life together” with other believers? (A challenge here is how to be electronically connected, but not alone—Dr. Sherry Turkle, MIT)
9
OUR PROFILE QUESTIONS 3.How does our use of digital technology / social media support or detract from “breaking of bread” with one another? Is there a legitimate way to break bread electronically? 4. How does our use of digital technology / social media enhance our prayer life, or teach others how to pray? Can we communicate God’s answers to prayers?

CIRCLING BACK... Am I open to Jesus transforming everything I think, say, and do to glorify Him, and mature me as a disciple who takes joy in discipling others?
