Kronos Information for DU Employees: Timecard Editing for Benefitted Employees

For benefitted hourly employees only: If approved by your unit, you can make edits to your timecard. This presentation will walk you through: -How to enter your time directly onto your timecard -How to add sick/vacation/bereavement/ jury duty to your timecard -How to remove a lunch deduction Continue

To view your Timecard, activate the Timecard widget: Click the Gear icon.

Select Pop-out.

Entering In and Out time directly onto your timecard: To enter actual time worked for 1/04 double click into the In cell on Mon 1/04.

Enter 755 to record time in at 7:55am. Note: You may also enter time in the following formats: 755a, 7:55a, 755am, or 7:55am.

Example of removing an automatic lunch deduction: You had a working lunch meeting on 1/04 and your supervisor approved that you could leave early. To record your time out double click into the Out column for Mon 1/04.

Enter 330p to record your time out at 3:30pm.

Click on Save.

To remove the automatic lunch deduction click into the column with an icon of a fork and knife in the Mon 1/04 row.

A check mark will appear in that cell. Click on Save

Notice your Daily total hours of 7.5.

Adding paid leave to your timecard: On Thu 12/31 you left early because you were not feeling well. To apply 3.5h of sick select the row of 12/31.

Select the More drop down box.

Choose Add Row. Kronos can only accommodate one pay code per line. Since time had been entered for 12/31 a second row needs to be created.

Click the + sign in the Pay Code Column in the newly created row.

Choose Sick.

In the Amount column enter 3.5 to record 3.5 hours of sick.

Save your work.

Now your sick time is recorded on your timecard. Notice that the Daily total is now 7.5 hours. Follow these steps to add any paid leave to your timecard.

At the end of each week make sure that you have recorded all of your worked hours and applied leave appropriately. Full time employees should reach their 37.5h or 40h per their schedule.
