Membership Development Support Grant: Objectives & Supported Activities Provide assistance to the Chapters in membership development and retention Encourage member grade-level enhancement Promote chapters’ growth worldwide Support travel to events deemed valuable to membership development, including: –Local chapter lectures, seminars and workshops –MPD, MDC, RCCC meetings, and other events –Outreach industry, professional, and other societies’ meetings/conferences to promote membership growth

MDSG Application and Selection Process Applications for local/regional activities should be submitted to RD for recommendation All other applications –to the Director MPD Applications must be submitted no later than 12 month prior the event Candidates must be ComSoc members (exceptions may be considered) Applications to be submitted using the MDSG Application Form www.comsoc.org/mdp/mdsg.htmlwww.comsoc.org/mdp/mdsg.html Applications will be reviewed and awardees selected by the MDSG Award Committee Announcements will be made 5 weeks prior the event

Chapter Achievements Award and Chapter of the Year Award CAA –recognition for outstanding chapter activities: $1000 for each region CoY – has been introduced $2000 Award criteria: –Membership programs and services –Membership growth –Membership level upgrade

Playing Numbers – Almost Gambling There are 40,000 ComSoc members, 20,000 in US 10,000 never attended ComSoc events 40, 000 registered for ComSoc events Who are the rest of 30,000? There are 1,600 student members Each year 3000 new Communications specialists There are 12,000 Communications students
