2. ESIF NGES Update – 2 NGES Overview  Next Generation Emergency Services (NGES) Subcommittee created at ESIF 17 in Las Vegas  Co-Chairs – Anand Akundi and Christian Militeau  Participation in the Subcommittee does not require ATIS membership

ESIF NGES Update – 3 NGES Goals  Provide liaison with global SDOs for the standards development coordination  Provide standards development coordination for NG emergency services with other ATIS committees (NGN Focus Group, PTSC, etc.)  Develop Stage 2/3 standards based on NENA’s i3 requirements and functional design in the context of IMS/NGN standards

4. ESIF NGES Update – 4 NGES Activities  Issue 48 – NG9-1-1 Service Coordination – Seeks to coordinate NG9-1-1 activities – Group identified members that could monitor various Standards bodies – The goal is to ensure other Standards are aware of NG9-1-1 work being done at NENA and ESIF

5. ESIF NGES Update – 5 NGES Activities  Issue 49 – Initial Stage 2/3 NG9-1-1 Requirements – Stage 2/3 NG9-1-1 requirements needed – Waiting on Stage 1 requirements from NENA – Some Stage 2/3 will be done in NGES – Work may also have to be liaisoned to other Standards bodies

6. ESIF NGES Update – 6 NGES Activities  Issue 50 – Next Generation Emergency Services Location Standards – Location Determination – Location Acquisition – Initial output – Technical Report – May lead to Location Standards

7. ESIF NGES Update – 7 NGES Activities  Issue 51 – NGN (IMS) Emergency Call Processing – Should calls from uninitialized terminals be supported? – Group decided to initiate work on a Technical Report related to this issue – Output – Technical Report
