2. The heart is best described as a muscular pump. It is about the size of an apple. The artery is the most muscular and elastic type of blood vessel. 4. If a person becomes dehydrated, there would be less plasma in their blood. If a person does not have enough erythrocytes, he/she would have difficulty carrying oxygen. Anemia can be caused by a lack of hemoglobin. If there was a hole in the septum, blood would move between the right and left sides of the heart. A myocardial infarction is life threatening because a damaged heart muscle cannot pump blood effectively. If someone is diagnosed with aneurysm, there is a weakness in the wall of their artery.
