3. Audience/Performance Behavior Study Guide. Demonstrate these 7 traits during the performance May 14 th 7:00 pm and you will not have to take the pencil and paper test. If unable to attend/or unable to demonstrate, then the quiz will be during your next music class. 1.Refrain from talking, noises, giggling. Do not do anything that will distract or take attention away from the performance. The first and greatest rule. It also includes whispering during the music. 2. Don’t give up if you make a mistake during your own performance. Usually only you can tell. 5. Applaud for others when the director’s hands go down OR Stand silently and smile while others applaud you. Bow if the director signals you. 6. When the audience stops clapping for the performers, so do you. It is rude to continue after everyone else has stopped 7. Hands are empty with no objects in them. The only exception is if you need an object to perform. 8. Yelling and calling out to family members is not proper manners. Winking at them is acceptable when entering the performance area so they know you see them.

4. How to get your belt. Look at the music all the time. Play almost all the notes at the correct time. Use the correct hand on top. Use proper playing technique. 4- Music Genius… I am able to transfer my note reading to another instrument and read them from the staff with no instruction. 3-Advanced….I am able to play all the notes correctly at right time and read them from the staff with good playing technique. 2. Good…I’m able to play most of the notes correctly at the right time. I am able to recognize a few notes from the staff with good playing technique. 1. On my way…I’m able to play many notes correctly at the correct time and mostly good playing technique. I need by help by look at someone’s fingers to play the notes. 0. Extra practice needed… I can play one or two notes by looking at the staff and remember a few playing techniques. I have trouble playing even when looking at someone’s fingers
