How long did the Atlantic Slave Trade last? 1492 and on, it lasted for centuries (1500-1800’s) Where did it go? Across the Atlantic Ocean to Caribbean Sea and Brazil. What was the Middle Passage? Slaves ships sailed from West Africa to Caribbean and Brazil. Slaves were packed so tight together for 2-3 months. Its was a dreadful voyage and unsanitary. Many died from heat exhaustion and disease. 1 out of 4 died.
