5 Asahi/America Physical Properties
UV: Excellent UV resistance in all materials. After 10 years exposure, virtually no decrease in burst pressure & a 5% increase in tensile strength. Abrasion: Superior abrasion resistance compared to metal valves due to the inherent properties of plastics; smooth surfaces and better absorption of impact energy. Impact Resistance: Superior impact resistance compared to competitors’ plastic valves . Result of body mass (wall thickness) and little or no voids created in the molding process.

6 Asahi/America Quality & Design All valves have a minimum working pressure safety factor of 4 to 1. Average hydrostatic burst pressure is 2000 psi. All valves are tested after manufacturing. All valves (except dampers) meet or exceed Class VI Shutoff. All valves have traceability as each is labeled with a manufacturer’s number. All valves can be hydrostatically tested 1.5 x max. working pressure for 10 minutes per ASME B31.1.
