P.U.R.E.Adirondacks P.U.R.E. stands for Protect, Understand, Respect, and Enjoy P.U.R.E. stands for Protect, Understand, Respect, and Enjoy This is an organization that focuses on the protection of the biodiversity in the Adirondack State Park. We especially focus on the control of invasive species. We do this by educating the public, both residents and tourists, about ways to protect the environment you are enjoying through respect and understanding. We also test ecosystems in the ADKs for research. This is an organization that focuses on the protection of the biodiversity in the Adirondack State Park. Logical Approach: Literature Review The Potential Distribution of the Zebra Mussels in the U.S. The Potential Distribution of the Zebra Mussels in the U.S. This article discusses that the rapid invasion of zebra mussels in aquatic ecosystems by zebra mussels and their destruction of biodiversity. The authors used an algorithm to predict the potential for regions to receive invasive species. They predict that without any control, zebra mussels will spread throughout the Midwest, the Southeast, and along the eastern seaboard. Invasion of the Zebra Mussels Invasion of the Zebra Mussels This article discusses that since 1986, zebra mussels will eventually infest up to two-thirds of the United States and cause $5 billion in damages in the Great Lakes area alone. The Niagara Power Project is hosting research to figure out solutions to control the spread of these mussels. Some of the possible solutions are ultraviolet light, electrical fields, special coatings, and sonic deterrence. Invasion of the Zebra Mussels Invasion of the Zebra Mussels This article discusses the emergence of zebra mussels in North America in 1988. Zebra mussels have caused millions of dollars worth of damage to water-supply systems and the ruination of the sport-fishing industry. Zebra mussels have virtually no natural predators and thus have spread from their initial colonies in Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie and have drifted into the other Great Lakes and large rivers. It would be much better to be closer to half the rate of mussels spreading through artificial means..This problem is a result of This problem is caused by the transportion of mussels by waterfowl, boats, bait, crayfish and turtles.. (New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services:Environmental Fact Sheet- Zebra Mussels www.des.nh.gov). Board of Directors, CEO, Vice President/CFO, Senior Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Communications, DEC officers, Environmental scientists, Communications officer, computers/laptops, assessments/test equipment, boat,, office, access to town hall, boat dock. Tourists, especially boaters and fisherman will participate in Pure Adirondacks, a program that values, protects, and advocates for biodivesrity and the prevention of invasive species in the Adirondacks the outputs will be a monthly count of how many Tourists, especially boaters and fisherman sign up for and participate in the program The percent of decline in the transferance of zebra mussels in the Adirondacks. will be lower for those participating in the program as compared to those not participating. The percent of the infestation of zebra mussels in the ADKs to be minimal to non-existent will be lower for those participating in the program as compared to those not participating. The community problem of Environmental destruction in lakes, reduced biodiversity, increased economic damage due to zebra mussels will decline from the current amount of 30,000- 1,000,000 new mussels/year. closer to the desired lower level of half the rate of mussels spreading through artificial means..

Data Analysis: Pivot Table This is an evaluation of the average decline in transference of zebra mussels of those in the program vs. not in the program. As you can see, there is a greater average decline of those in the program.
