3 Some common procedures. Vision care. Eye exam / $85 Lasik eye surgery / $3,000 per eye Heart test “ Echocardiogram” / $2000 Surgeries, “ Appendectomy” $44,000, Bicep Tendon repair $31,000 Dental Care: Crown $500, Dentures $10.000 Doctors visit exam varies $150 to $300

4 Other Costs General Physical Exam / $750 Blood work / varies $300 and up. Childbirth $7000 and up depends on health of mom and infant. Hearing implants $50,000 Root canal $350 t0 $850 MRI $1000 for one part of body

5 Activity Students will work in groups of 4 they will be read some short passages on a health related issues and summarize main points in one sentence. After summarizing main points students will exchange information and save as notes. Each student should have at least 8 to 10 points for discussion.
