4  Report regularly to the division governor and district leaders on area progress, and advise district leaders immediately if: 3 District Service Standards For Area Governors  Your area falls below four clubs  Or grows above six clubs

5 4 District Service Standards  Serve as Area Council chair and hold at least two Area Council meetings each year and have the following topics on the agenda: For Area Governors (continued)  Discuss each club’s plans and goals in the Distinguished Club Program and needs for district/area assistance.  Review attendance at club officer training.

6 5 District Service Standards  Achieve Distinguished Area status. For Area Governors (continued)  Motivate and assist each club in the area to become a Distinguished Club.  Participate in area governor training provided by the district.

7 6 District Service Standards  Make at least two club visits per club per year. For Area Governors (continued)  Assess club membership and its leadership’s willingness to grow.  Assess who will achieve educational achievements and when these will be completed.  Submit the Area Governor’s Club Visit Report form online.

8 7 District Service Standards  Contact club presidents monthly about: For Area Governors (continued)  Distinguished Club Program performance  Follow-up on items identified during previous visit or contact  District training or other district events

9 8 District Service Standards  Provide motivation, guidance, and supervision to area governors to help them fulfill their roles and responsibilities. For Division Governors  Contact area governors at least monthly to discuss: Progress toward goals in the Distinguished Area Program Follow-up on club visits Helping all clubs achieve distinguished club status

10 9 District Service Standards  Serve as division council chair. Hold at least two Division Council meetings each year, and have the following topics on the agenda: For Division Governors (continued)  Discuss each area’s plans, goals, and progress in the Distinguished Area Program and the need for assistance.  Discuss division clubs’ plans, goals, and progress in the Distinguished Club Program as well as the need for assistance.  Review club officer training plans and achievements.  Discuss plans for division speech contests.

11 10 Measuring Area Governor Success  Achieve Distinguished Division status or better. Distinguished Area Program  Assist area governors in the achievement of Distinguished Area status.  Assist clubs in the achievement of Distinguished Club status.  Participate in division governor training provided by the district.  Coordinate division speech contests.  Report regularly to the district governor and lieutenant governors on division progress.

12 Eligibility: Every area with three or more clubs in club base is automatically considered in Distinguished Area Program. 11 Measuring Area Governor Success Distinguished Area Program

13 12 Measuring Area Governor Success Achieve four of these five goals: Distinguished Area Goals Goal 175% of area clubs submitting October Dues renewals to World Headquarters by November 15. Goal 275% of area clubs submitting April Dues renewals to World Headquarters by May 15. Goal 31.75 Competent Communicators awarded per club by June 30. Goal 4Advanced Communicator for every two clubs by June 30. Goal 560% of area clubs become Distinguished Clubs.

20 Goal: Average of 1.75 CCs per club in area by June 30. 19 Measuring Area Governor Success Sample Distinguished Area Goal Calculation Goal calculation: CLUB BASE x 1.75; For example, an area with a CLUB BASE of 5 must have 8 CCs by June 30. Goal: 60 percent of area clubs achieve Distinguished Club by June 30. Goal calculation: CLUB BASE x.60; For example, an area with a CLUB BASE of 5 must have 3 clubs achieve Distinguished Club or better by June 30.
