2 Can some advertisements have more than one appeal?
Yes! The more appeals used in an ad the more likely the consumer is to connect with it. For the case of this lesson or power point, pick the MOST emphasized appeal used in each ad to write onto your sheet.

Sample #1: Crest I think in the ad Ethos is being used because it states, “Dentists recommend crest. Dentists are reliable and trustworthy people.

4 Class example Sample #2 Starbucks I think that in this ad Pathos is being used. The ad mentions spreading cheer which is a happy emotion. I also think that Ethos is used because of the brand name of Starbucks. This product has been around and proven a reliable, trustworthy product.
