Introduction The International Advanced Program in Nursing (IAPN) was initiated in 2012. Master program To cultivate advanced nursing professionals with knowledge and skills in managing specific health care issues, as well as to improve clinical practices. 26 graduates and 15 current students

My Teaching for IAPN Started from 2013 Two subjects – Health and Physical Assessment and Examination (3 Credits; in Fall semesters) – Data Management and Analysis in Health Care (3 Credits; in Spring semesters)

Challenges for English Teaching Strong Taiwanese accent, poor pronunciation and fluency of speech. Limited usage of English vocabularies – Could be worsening if I did not get a good sleep on the night before the class.

Strategies to Improve Teaching Getting a night sleep for at least seven hours before the class Listening to radio English lessons Increasing speaking opportunities with international students and foreigners The “heavy” use of body language Well-preparation for teaching: good teaching materials and contents

Strategies to Improve Teaching (cont.) Understanding the culture differences and the students’ needs and challenges while studying in an oversea country. Effective communication with the students – Goals of the course – What assistances they can receive from the department and university
