2. Rainforests What are rainforests ? This is how a rainforest looks like. Rainforests are forests characterized by high rainfall. They are the lungs of our planet too, because they provide oxygen. There are thousands of animal species living there. Rodrigo Carvalho nº21 8ºA

3. Animals As we already know, there are lots of animal species living in the rainforests. Rodrigo Carvalho nº21 8ºA

4. Tribal People There are people living in the rainforests too: tribal people or indigenous people; They have their own culture, rituals and lifestyle. Rodrigo Carvalho nº21 8ºA

5. What’s happening to rainforests ? deforestation. These trees People are cutting down more trees from the rainforests – deforestation. These trees are important for photosynthesis and provide oxygen. Rodrigo Carvalho nº21 8ºA

6. What’s happening to rainforests ? extinction Also, there are animals being killed to produce “nice” clothes that will be sold. That leads to extinction. And the indigenous people become homeless. Rodrigo Carvalho nº21 8ºA

7. What can we do to prevent this ? → We must: 1.Stop buying rainforest products; 2.Stop using animals skin based clothes; 3.Recycle; 4.Alert other people to what’s happening ! Rodrigo Carvalho nº21 8ºA
