Grammar Rules! 14. The indefinite articles a and an: Use a in front of nouns beginning with consonants. (I have an cat.) Exception: When the letter h is silent, use an. (What a honor!) 15. The “Oxford comma” in lists: In a list of three or more words or phrases, put commas after every item except the last item. (Some parts of speech include verbs nouns pronouns and articles.)
