2 Where is Portugal? Portugal is a small country on the most west tip of Europe. It’s on the Iberian Peninsula, in the south west of Europe.

3 Flag: The flag of Portugal is red which symbolizes the blood shed in the wars; green, to represent the hope and the trees of the country, the military sphere is the Portuguese maritime discoveries and the coat of arms symbolizes the colonial Portuguese Empire. Military Sphere Coat of Arms

The capital of Portugal is Lisbon. Currency is Euro Portugal has around 10 million people.  Portugal is a democratic country and the president is Aníbal Cavaco Silva. 1986 Portugal enter into the E. U.

10 National Public holiday:
25th April – «Revolution of Carnations» It is celebrated to remember the opposition between the social and political sectors on 25th April 1974. 1st May – Day of Workers It is celebrated for remember the people who figth against the conditions of work inhuman existent in 1886. 10th June – Day of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities Marks the death of Luís Vaz de Camões in 1580 and also the Day of the Holy Guardian Angel of Portugal.
