3 Why Weather? Unit Objectives:  Students will measure and record the frequency of precipitation and daily temperatures of their immediate area.  Students will use probe technology to measure the pH of their precipitation samples.  Students will input their data into an Excel program in order to calculate monthly precipitation totals for their area.Excel  Students will use their data from Excel to create a world-wide database using Access.Access.  Students will research precipitation, temperature and pH patterns around the world to formulate hypotheses about the effects of elevation, industry and proximity to bodies of water on weather patterns.

5 Where in the World…? As part of the data-gathering process, students will be required to document the latitude and altitude of their location.
