California governor declared a state of emergency
2
Governor Jerry Brown of California announced a state of emergency on Sunday after wildfires forced about 23,000 people to flee their homes in the north of the state. Hundreds of homes were consumed amid chaotic evacuations as parts of Northern California exploded in fire over the weekend, resulting in one of the worst fire seasons in the history of the state. The fires have thus far left one person dead. The many blazes have so far destroyed thousands acres along with 1000 structures. They are far from fully contained and threaten thousands of other buildings. The fires across northern California are being blamed on high temperatures and years of drought.

In Other News Tonight will be round two of the Republican presidential debates. For years some Facebook users have been clamoring for a "dislike" button, yet the social media giant has resisted -- until now. Yesterday during a town hall Q&A, Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook is going to make such a button because it realized people wanted to "express empathy" on posts about bad news. Hungary has closed its border with Serbia, blocking a route refugees have been using to escape war and violence in the Middle East and North Africa. So now migrants are detouring through Croatia to find their way to the more prosperous countries of Western Europe. Hungary used physical and nonphysical means -- new laws targeting border crossers, a razor-wire fortified railway carriage to plug the border fence -- to stop the flow of refugees. A new report is detailing the use of antibiotics in the meat and poultry supply chains of the 25 largest U.S. fast food and "fast casual" restaurants. Chipotle and Panera Bread fared best, with both receiving A’s. Chick-fil-A received a grade of B. Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's received Cs. Subway, Wendy's, Burger King, Denny's, Domino's and Starbucks all received F’s, but got at least one point. Other restaurants that received Fs earned zero out of 36 possible points: Olive Garden, Papa John's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, Applebee's, Sonic, Chili's, Jack in the Box, Arby's, Dairy Queen, IHOP, Outback and Little Caesars.
