MOC Differentiators MOC data and dashboards include planning, budgeting, forecasting, customer, and cost information; niche applications typically do not. This enables different perspectives and interpretations of the significance of the information that is reported, thereby making it more useful to a wider variety of users, like customer service. Without planning information, niche solutions cannot compare execution to plan. MOC has superior scalability and is able to span multiple production lines in multiple facilities; niche applications occasionally span multiple production lines, but not multiple facilities. This enables standardized comparisons across multiple facilities. It also provides a consolidated view of statuses.

MOC Differentiators MOC is designed to collect data from multiple, disparate sources into a single data repository (single source of the truth), where data is synchronized and rationalized. This means that the data in MOC dashboards is already cleansed and reliable. This information can also be written out to other applications, replacing manual logs and forming the basis of electronic batch records (EBR) and regulatory reporting. Some of the niche control systems will require that the user convert to 100% reliability on their brand of control mechanisms. MOC includes composite metrics that are a roll-up of subordinate measures (very useful for higher level executives). This allows users to get a quick view of statuses without ponderous data, but allowing drill-down to the transaction level.

MOC Differentiators At its lowest level, MOC relies on individual transactions, where many other systems will use summarized data for their dashboards. This allows users to specifically identify questionable activities. MOC continues to be enhanced. Oracle is currently in the process of integrating it, out-of-the-box, with Asset Management for direct communication of equipment statuses and repair requests. Oracle has also announced the development of “Green Dashboards” that will include utility monitoring (electricity, gas, water, etc.) and report on a company’s carbon footprint and ecological sustainability.

MOC Differentiators MOC is built on one of the best analytical engines anywhere. It uses Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI), which is the updated and re-packaged Siebel Analytics – a very mature product used by over 5,000 companies. It provides ad hoc report authoring and click & drag dashboard creation. Users can easily change the report formats among charts, tables, graphs, etc., to other forms that are most intuitive for their particular situation. OBI-EE can take “snapshots” of dashboards, freezing and publishing them in “notebooks” for documentation and use in presentations, such as Operations Reviews. OBI-EE provides the capabilities to export the data it collects to Excel, PowerPoint, Work, or Adobe for additional analysis and reporting.

In the event of an enterprise outage or network troubles, the store and forward feature saves all transactions on the MESInterface IT module, and then delivers them whenever the system is operational.
