Stanley Milgram Experiment Milgram set up a simple experiment at Yale University to test how much pain an ordinary citizen would inflict on another person simply because he was ordered to by someone in authority.

Milgram asked 40 psychologists what % would go all the way? They said 1%. (1% of Americans are sadistic & this is sadistic behavior.) They could not have been more wrong. 2/3rds gave the 450 volts in the first study. Milgram did 16 similar studies. In the last study, 90% of the participants go all the way. Women no different from men.
