The U.S. Macon crashed into the pacific ocean
Air planes were no longer permitted to fly over the White House
61st Kentucky derby held
Dust bowl ravages crops and farmland in the U.S. heartland

4. Al Capone Does My Shirts
Takes place during the Great Depression
Moose and his family move to Alcatraz so Natalie can go to Esther P. Marinoff school
Natalie can’t get into the school so all hope seems lost
Because of the problem above, Moose sends a letter to Al Capone thinking he can help
Later on Natalie is accepted and Moose finds a letter in his shirt saying “done”
