2. + What Are You Going to Research?  Don’t just restate what others have already said. (For example, can we understand it all in five minutes on Wikipedia?)  Pull information together to help us all learn something.

4. + You Are Acting as a Journalist Follow clues, ask questions – be curious Take notes Use academic vocabulary Cite sources

6. + What Is Expected? A two-page paper, explaining your research per Informational Text Rubric and Citing Evidence Rubric A model, poster, or Google Presentation with the following: Topic: the findings from your research topic Audience: peers, study buddies, parents Purpose: help us understand what you learned and why it was important to you

7. + When is This to Be Presented? Presentations will begin on December 14, 2015 You will have ten (10) minutes to share your work at an assigned time during the week.

8. + Are You Going to Freak Out? No! This is a ten minute presentation and a two page paper. The paper may be quoted on your poster, or in your presentation. Papers are size 12 font, one inch margins. Presentations are minimal text with properly cited photographs or images.

9. + Time Frame We’ve been talking about this for the last couple of weeks Now you need to define your topic! 11/13 Topic Defined 11/16 – 11/19 Notecards of research 11/23 Outline of Research 11/30 Time to write paper Model, Google presentation, or poster may be prepared at home or school. Mrs. Whitney & Guest Parents will help with paper-cutting.
