2 Using a Venn Diagram You can draw a Venn Diagram to illustrate conditional statements. The set of things that satisfy the hypothesis lies inside the set of things that satisfy the conclusion. If you live in Detroit, then you live in Michigan.

3 Venn Diagram Examples (Note Examples)
1.) If something is a golden retriever, then it is a dog. 2.) If something is a rose, then it is a flower.

4 Converse of a Conditional
The converse of a conditional switches the hypothesis and the conclusion. Conditional: If two lines intersect to form right angles, then they are perpendicular. Converse: If two lines are perpendicular, then they intersect to form right angles.

5 Converse Examples (Note Examples)
Write the converse of the following statements: 1.) If two lines are not parallel and do not intersect, then they are skew. 2.) If a figure is a square, then it has four sides.
