4 4 Evil, Unprofitable Servant He was presumptuous –S–Satan causes people to think they have all the time in the world to make things right with God. –2–2 Corinthians 6:2 v. 48 “...My master is not coming for a long time ” 2 Corinthians 6:2 “ for He says, "At the acceptable time I listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is "the acceptable time," behold, now is "the day of salvation"— ”

5 5 Evil, Unprofitable Servant He was presumptuous He was abusive –B–Bite and devour others Galatians 5:15 v. 49 “...And begins to beat his fellow slaves... ” “ But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. ” 1 Peter 1:22 “ Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, ” 1 Peter 4:8 “ Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. ” Colossians 3:14 “ Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. ”

6 6 Evil, Unprofitable Servant He was presumptuous He was abusive He began to walk in the ways of the world –2–2 Peter 2:20-22 v. 49 “...begins... to eat and drink with drunkards. ” “ For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A dog returns to its own vomit," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire. ”

7 7 Evil, Unprofitable Servant Severe judgment of eternal damnation –M–Matthew 24:50-51 –T–The judgment will be unexpected –T–The judgment will be severe Matthew 21:42-44 –T–The judgment will be the same as on other evil people –T–The judgment will be grievous and forever. “ the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ” “ Jesus said* to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, This became the chief corner stone; This came about from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes '? "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it. "And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust." ”

9 9 Faithful and Sensible Servant Has been appointed by his master –M–Matthew 24:45a “ "Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household … ” John 8:34-35 “ Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. 35 "The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. ” Romans 6:16 “ Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? ”

10 10 Faithful and Sensible Servant Has been appointed by his master To give them food “ at the proper time ” – Matthew 24:45b –W–We all are to exhort one another –A–Always help each other. Galatians 5:13 Hebrews 3:13 “ But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. ” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “ Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. ” Ephesians 4:16 “ from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. ” “ For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. ” 1 Peter 4:10-11 “ As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. ”

11 11 Faithful and Sensible Servant “ Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes ” –M–Matthew 24:46 1 Peter 5:8 “ Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. ”

12 12 Faithful and Sensible Servant Great reward will be given to the faithful servants –M–Matthew 24:47 –O–Our Lord's parables regarding servants teach faithful service. Matthew 20:26-28 “ Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. ” Revelation 2:26-28 “ 'He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as I also have received authority from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. ” Revelation 3:21 “ 'He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. ” Matthew 20:26-28 “ "It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." ” John 13:13-15 “ "You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. "If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. "For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. ”
