WHAT IS AN ELASTOMER? An ELASTOMER is a polymer with pliable plastic material which is an insulator - cooled to a glassy or crystalline phase , can be moulded into different shapes, able to withstand deformation and extreme flexibility. ELASTOMERS can be made from natural or artificial rubber. They are also thermosets – requiring vulcanization, but may also be thermoplastic (although thermosets are durable. There are also SATURATED (can be cured by vulcanization) and UNSATURATED (cannot be cured).

*They are mainly used in automobiles, sports and electronics*
WHAT IS IT USED FOR? It is usually used for many purposed because of its special qualities. Some examples are: - wheels of skateboards - soles of tennis shoes - telephone lines; - insulation covering speaker cables *They are mainly used in automobiles, sports and electronics*

HOW DOES IT WORK? Automobile industry- It helps the weight reduction of the car and in other ways like having the properties of resisting petroleum products and many others. Shoes- A form of elastomer is used in the name of Thermoplastic polyurethanes or (TPU) it helps support the heel of your foot for a lockdown feel so that the heel of your foot doesn't move back and forth.

WHAT ARE THE KINDS OF ELASTOMERS?
Unsaturated: | Saturated: - Nitrile Rubber - Silicon Rubber - Butyl Rubber - Polyacrylic Rubber - Styrene-butadiene Rubber - Fluorosilicone Rubber - Polybutadiene - Epichlorohydrin rubber Etc. |

WHAT ARE THE KINDS OF ELASTOMERS?
There is actually also another kind of elastomers, but only a few belong to this group: - Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) - The proteins, resilin and elastin - Polysulfide rubber
