+ Table Talk Discuss your evaluation of your school context in relation to the Diamond and Ferguson readings. CONFIDENTIAL Discuss what you could include in your school plan – what would you recommend for your school to do to make the shifts that Ferguson and Diamond recommend? (15 minutes)

+ Adolescent development Handout about connections between adolescent development and the 9 th grade transition Resource for developing your school plan presentation or memo

+ School Visit Discussions In groups of 5-6, each with a facilitator from the school visit research group, discuss the following topics related to school visits: Similarities and Differences Changes to practice in middle and high school Skills vital to success in high school What are the implications for practices in our district? (30 minutes)

+ Policy Group Breakouts Continue the work you started last time in policy groups. Special Education: Finding statistics, fleshing out problem and solution sections of policy memo School Visit Analysis: Data entry, beginning to identify trends and themes from data and class discussion Pilot Admissions: Finishing/revising individual school policy memos; determining next steps ESL: Narrow down the problem and solution sections of your policy memo High School Showcase-Continue fleshing out solutions; plan meeting with Denise Snyder to discuss the 2013 showcase (50-60 minutes)

+ Deadlines School Plan due 5/2 Policy Memo due 5/16 Remember that you have 2 hours of time to use for further work on the policy project
