If the risks or uncertainties ever materialize or the assumptions prove incorrect, the results of HPE may differ materially from those expressed or implied by such forward-looking statements and assumptions. All statements other than statements of historical fact are statements that could be deemed forward-looking statements, including but not limited to any statements of the plans, strategies and objectives of HPE for future operations, including the separation transaction; the future performance of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and HP Inc. if the separation is completed; the execution of restructuring plans and any resulting cost savings or revenue or profitability improvements; any projections of revenue, margins, expenses, HPE's effective tax rate, net earnings, net earnings per share, cash flows, benefit plan funding, share repurchases, currency exchange rates or other financial items; any projections of the amount, timing or impact of cost savings or restructuring charges; any statements concerning the expected development, performance, market share or competitive performance relating to products or services; any statements regarding current or future macroeconomic trends or events and the impact of those trends and events on HPE and its financial performance; any statements regarding pending investigations, claims or disputes; any statements of expectation or belief; and any statements of assumptions underlying any of the foregoing. Risks, uncertainties and assumptions include the need to address the many challenges facing HPE's businesses; the competitive pressures faced by HPE's businesses; risks associated with executing HPE's strategy; the impact of macroeconomic and geopolitical trends and events; the need to manage third-party suppliers and the distribution of HPE's products and services effectively; the protection of HPE's intellectual property assets, including intellectual property licensed from third parties; risks associated with HPE's international operations; the development and transition of new products and services and the enhancement of existing products and services to meet customer needs and respond to emerging technological trends; the execution and performance of contracts by HPE and its suppliers, customers and partners; the hiring and retention of key employees; integration and other risks associated with business combination and investment transactions; the execution, timing and results of the separation transaction or restructuring plans, including estimates and assumptions related to the cost and the anticipated benefits of implementing the separation transaction and restructuring plans; the resolution of pending investigations, claims and disputes; and other risks that are described in HPE's Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended October 31, 2013, and HPE's other filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including HPE's Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the fiscal quarter ended July 31, As in prior periods, the financial information set forth in this presentation, including tax-related items, reflects estimates based on information available at this time. While HPE believes these estimates to be reasonable, these amounts could differ materially from actual reported amounts in HPE's Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended October 31, HPE assumes no obligation and does not intend to update these forward-looking statements.

Use of non-GAAP financial information
To supplement HPE's historical and forecasted financial results presented on a GAAP basis, HPE provides revenue on a constant currency basis, HPE's non-GAAP tax rate, non-GAAP diluted net earnings per share and free cash flow. Definitions of these non-GAAP financial measures and reconciliations of these non-GAAP financial measures to the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures are included elsewhere in this presentation and available in the supplemental information provided at HPE's management uses revenue on a constant currency basis, HPE's non-GAAP tax rate and non-GAAP diluted net earnings per share to evaluate and forecast HPE's performance before gains, losses or other charges that are considered by HPE's management to be outside of HPE's core business segment operating results. Free cash flow is a liquidity measure that provides useful information to management about the amount of cash available for investment in HPE's businesses, funding strategic acquisitions, repurchasing stock and other purposes. These non-GAAP financial measures may have limitations as analytical tools, and these measures should not be considered in isolation or as a substitute for analysis of HPE's results as reported under GAAP. Items such as amortization of purchased intangible assets, though not directly affecting HPE's cash position, represent the loss in value of intangible assets over time. The expense associated with this loss in value is not included in non-GAAP diluted net earnings per share and HPE's non-GAAP tax rate and therefore does not reflect the full economic effect of the loss in value of those intangible assets. In addition, items such as restructuring charges that are excluded from non-GAAP diluted net earnings per share and HPE's non-GAAP tax rate can have a material impact on cash flows and earnings per share. Free cash flow does not represent the total increase or decrease in the cash balance for the period. The non-GAAP financial information that we provide also may differ from the non-GAAP information provided by other companies. We compensate for the limitations on our use of these non-GAAP financial measures by relying primarily on our GAAP financial statements and using non-GAAP financial measures only supplementally. We also provide robust and detailed reconciliations of each non-GAAP financial measure to the most directly comparable GAAP measure, and we encourage investors to review carefully those reconciliations. We believe that providing these non-GAAP financial measures in addition to the related GAAP measures provides investors with greater transparency to the information used by HPE's management in its financial and operational decision-making and allows investors to see HPE's results “through the eyes” of management. We further believe that providing this information better enables investors to understand HPE's operating performance and to evaluate the efficacy of the methodology and information used by management to evaluate and measure such performance.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise: Our point of view
Now let’s talk about you

In the Idea Economy, anyone can change the world
Ideas, of course, have always fueled business success. They’ve built companies, markets and industries. But there’s a difference today. The ability to turn an idea into a new product…a new capability…a new business…or a new industry…has never been easier or more accessible… Easier for you and easier for your competitors, maybe even some that you don’t know exist today. Today, an entrepreneur with a good idea has access to all of the infrastructure and resources that a traditional Fortune 1000 company would have…and they can pay for it all with a credit card. They can rent compute on demand, get a SAAS ERP system, use PayPal or Square for transactions, they can market using Facebook or Google, and have FedEx run their supply chain. The days of needing millions of dollars to launch a new company or bring a new idea to market are fading fast. You don’t have to look any further than more recent companies such as Vimeo, One Kings Lane or Dock to Dish – all HPE customers and partners or with more common names like Salesforce, Airbnb, Netflix and Pandora to see how the Idea Economy is exploding. And how about Uber? Uber’s impact has been dramatic since it launched its application to connect riders and drivers in Without owning a single car, it now serves more than 250 cities in 55 countries and has completely disrupted the taxi industry. San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency says that cab use has dropped 65 percent in San Francisco in two years. Digital everything… everywhere, every day, everyone connected Every business is a digital business Disrupting every industry
10
Thriving in the Idea Economy means change
Thriving in the Idea Economy requires organizations to accelerate their rate of positive change… Create new outcomes from apps, data and experiences Able to rapidly compose new apps and services from any source to create new value for customers and citizens Proactively manages all forms of risk Protected and compliance in a world of rapidly changing threat landscape Contextually-aware and predictive Harness 100% of its data to generate real-time instant insights for continuous improvement, innovation and learning Hyper-connected workplace and ecosystem Deliver experiences that create outcomes by enabling employees and engaging customers in a personalized way Create new outcomes from apps, data and experiences Hyper-connected workplace and ecosystem Proactively manage all forms of risk Contextually aware and predictive

Time to value is priority #1
Today Tomorrow Opportunity Identified In a technology-driven world, it takes more than good ideas to be successful. Success today is defined by how quickly an enterprise can turn ideas into value how quickly you can experiment, learn fast, test, tune and make it better. That’s the differentiator, no matter what industry you’re in. Uber didn’t need to invent a new technology to build their business…they just had to take advantage of the explosion of smartphones and mobile applications to design a compelling customer experience and invent a new way of doing business. But this isn’t just about Uber being able to execute a good idea. It’s also about the inability of the cab industry to act quickly to transform its own business models to compete. Did they have time to respond to the market disruption that Uber represents? Absolutely. But they needed an IT infrastructure that would allow them to pivot when the inevitable disruption arrived….and they didn’t have that. They were still operating on CB radios. [Pause] These examples are a warning: Every Fortune 1000 company today is at risk of missing a market opportunity, not securing their enterprise, and being disrupted by a new idea or business model. And what’s the common element here? Time. Even with great ideas even with all the great technology available to you…time to value is still your biggest enemy. And your greatest opportunity. You know as well as anyone that time for IT projects and new applications used to be measured in years and months. Today, it has become weeks and even days. Increasingly, it is shrinking to hours. So you have to ask yourself: How quickly can I capitalize on a new idea? How rapidly can I seize a new opportunity? How fast can I respond to a new competitor that threatens my business? There’s some good news here for established companies. The same technologies that make it easy for new companies to get started are also enabling enterprises to increase their speed adapt quickly to changing business models and achieve faster time to value. The winners are those companies – from startups to large enterprises – who know how to use the power of IT to quickly fuel the power of ideas. VALUE Delivered VALUE Delivered Opportunity Identified Value Value Value Created Continuously Continuous value delivery Time Time

To keep pace, IT must transform into a value creator
Cloud Enabled, Mobile Ready Hybrid Infrastructure Traditional IT Hosting workloads & applications Rapidly creating and brokering new services Providing hardened systems & networks Predicting threats and managing risk To respond, IT must transform from a cost center to a value creator for the New Style of Business and a bridge from the traditional to the new. And achieving that transformation is where HPE leads like no other company. We’ve been helping our customers and partners deal with big IT challenges and major shifts in technology for decades. Today this means helping you manage traditional IT better while enabling you to migrate to the public and private cloud at a pace and in a way that is appropriate for your business. This New Style of Business demands a New Style of IT and every single one of you are participants and drivers on this journey. But you have to pick a transformation partner with the vision and breadth to create the best possible future. And make no mistake, we are that partner. In its most basic form, that is the mission of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. We can take your IT environments and make them more efficient, more productive and more secure as we bridge the traditional to the new. We will enable organizations to act rapidly on ideas by creating, consuming and re-configuring new solutions, experiences and business models . . And we will deliver infrastructure that is built from components that can be composed and re-composed easily and quickly to meet the shifting demands of the applications driving your enterprise. One of the first steps in achieving this kind of flexibility and agility is to break down the old infrastructure silos that make enterprises averse to new ideas internally and vulnerable to new ideas externally. It’s no good designing compelling new experiences and services if your infrastructure cannot support them. The right compute platform can have a significant impact on business outcomes and performance. Storage that thinks as much as it stores. Networking that moves information faster and more securely than ever before. Orchestration and management software that lets you know what is happening and where…and provides predictive capabilities. [Pause] The resources and solutions we provide recognize an important reality: We all live in a hybrid world with a blend of public cloud, private cloud and traditional IT. Apps and data are everywhere, creating new demands. That’s why infrastructure isn’t one size fits all anymore. It isn’t just in your data center. It isn’t just in the cloud. Your infrastructure has to be everywhere at the right cost, with the right service offering, at the right performance, with the right management, at the right scale. Some of our competitors come at this from a services only perspective, others just from software or hardware. We're the only company that brings it all to you. The company best equipped to build a bridge from where your IT is today to where it needs to be. And we don’t dictate how you do it. HPE can assist you on the journey that is unique for you. The way you want to consume…the way you want to transform…the outcomes you want…the support you need, when and where you need it. With the right financial architecture for you. Providing real-time insight & understanding Managing data Delivering continuously Responding and reacting Contain Cost Create Outcomes Accelerate your rate of positive change

One transformation - four parts All required. All linked. All overlap.
to a hybrid infrastructure Enable workplace productivity Protect your digital enterprise Empower the data-driven organization Today, we are defining our focus for Hewlett Packard Enterprise with the launch of four new transformation areas that you have told us are the most important to your business. These four transformation areas represent our view of where the market is headed and what you, our customers, will need. Being successful in these areas takes more than services. More than technology. More than software. It requires a transformation partner able to bring all these elements together, aligned to your industry and your enterprise. They’re at the heart of what Hewlett Packard Enterprise will deliver. The first is to transform to a hybrid infrastructure. This is about two things: getting better value from existing infrastructure and creating and delivering new value quickly and continuously from all of your applications. Infrastructure matters more than ever in this new world, but we need a new kind of infrastructure. A hybrid foundation that maximizes performance and cost. We help you build a cloud that works for you – one that scales and works with your infrastructure. Only HPE optimizes all your applications, traditional, mobile, in the cloud, in the data center. Second, you have to protect your digital enterprise. The threat landscape is wider and more diverse than ever before. No one else can provide a more complete management of risk in all its forms than HPE. And risk means more than security threats. It includes back-up and recovery. We have a range of solutions to help you keep your business up and running in the event of a disaster. Third, more and more companies recognize that they need to empower a data-driven organization. HPE has bet on open-source, lower cost solutions that allow you to use 100 percent of your business data, human data and machine data to generate real-time, actionable insights. The result is better and faster decision making. Finally, you tell us you’re increasingly focused on enabling workplace productivity. Tomorrow’s digital workplace is everywhere. Delivering a great experience to employees and customers – everywhere, anytime, on any device – is the last and most critical step. We will help you deliver rich digital and mobile experiences to customers, employees and partners. One transformation - four parts All required. All linked. All overlap. Only one partner brings them together

Protect Enable Empower Transform to a hybrid infrastructure
Provide the foundation for 100% of the apps and workloads that power your enterprise. Protect your digital enterprise The first is to transform to a hybrid infrastructure. For 75 years, HPE has been inventing the infrastructures and investing in the know how to help you get the most value from your applications. We don’t make the apps, we make the outcomes from your apps better. In the Idea Economy– many of your best ideas will come to life as applications. Increasingly, your applications will become your product, enable your customer experience and become the face of your enterprise to your customers. The fact of the matter is, in the New Style of Business you depend more than ever on your applications, but your application landscape is radically changing. Enable workplace productivity Empower the data-driven organization
19
A new breed of apps power the New Style of Business
1 Trillion applications 100 Billion connected devices 7.6 Billion world population By 2020 – there will be 7.6 billion people…..with 100 billion connected devices and things…..requiring 1 trillion applications. Most of that 1 trillion – will be made up of a new breed…… Mobile apps Cloud native and webscale apps. Apps to power the internet of things Apps to engage….apps to analyze…..and, apps to understand. But, at the same time, you need to continue to support and integrate with the workloads that currently run your business. This is a massive challenge for all of us. You need to be able to bridge the applications and workloads of today, with the applications and workloads of tomorrow. These are different in how they’re designed, hosted and consumed They have different infrastructure requirements And we need to think differently about how we test, deliver, and optimize them. I bet if I polled the audience, we’d find that the majority of you are managing a hybrid environment and, you are trying to optimize that environment- to free up funds to invest in the new. SUBSTANTION OF CLAIMS – Source: HP Internal research. From HP Helion launch message map - By 2020, more than a trillion applications will be exchanging 58 zettabytes of digital data over 100 billion devices, creating massive complexity and creating opportunities for enterprises to transform their operations, enhance interactions with customers, and make workers more productive. . 2020

Make leaps, not steps, to hybrid
Let business processes be your guide Match each workload to the right platform Be the service provider of outcomes Automate and orchestrate to scale and remove cost In fact, 90% of enterprises believe their implementation of hybrid is lagging where it needs to be. DATA FROM HPE SERVICES INTERVIEWS WITH CUSTOMERS. The good news is - we support some of the worlds best - so let me share what we’ve learned, so you can get to your outcomes faster. First - you have to make leaps, not just steps to hybrid. In our experience, the best journeys are bold moves to new platforms and Software-as-a-Service. And sometimes its best to move straight to cloud - even for old, non-virtualized environments So let business processes be your guide Where you can actually change a process or a customer experience, that’s the place to start – not just where its technically easy. So, force the hard decisions and match each application and workload to the right platform. Ask which apps are core to your mission and which are not. Determine which ones be should move to its private, public or managed cloud or which ones could be replaced and delivered as a service; the key is to determine which are the best candidates and have cloud configurations designed for that workload. Next act like an Internal Service provider driving greater alignment between IT and the business. Become the provider of services to your enterprise to create new business outcome, which will drive greater alignment between IT and business units. You can’t “control” and lock down IT the way you would have in the past, so critical to enable business users in the right ways so they choose the best paths rather than simply “going rogue” Finally, you cannot scale without automation and orchestration This is probably the most important step you can take because it builds the foundation for the speed and agility your applications will need
21
Transform to hybrid infrastructure with Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Let’s talk more specifically about how HPE can help you start and accelerate your journey today. The reality is that everyone in this room has legacy applications – legacy meaning anything running today in your data center. Many of those apps are core and strategic to your mission. Converge and Virtualize: But you also need to build a bridge to tomorrow’s apps, workloads and data. To do this you must converge and virtualize your infrastructure. This will include modernizing your servers, storage and network foundation to give your workloads and operations a boost. You can also accelerate your projects by bringing those elements together into pre-integrated, engineered systems. With next generation technology, HPE helps you bring your current applications forward to increase performance, free up time and cut costs. HPE 3PAR flash is a great example. At HPE Discover, we announced a new class of enterprise flash storage with our new HPE 3PAR flash family that help you simplify management of storage will also getting more performance for less cost. Automate and Orchestrate: Now, It is clear we can’t simply throw people at the problem of managing our infrastructure. The demand for continuous delivery makes it critical to bring automation, orchestration and advanced analytics to our IT operations. Most of our customers start with solutions like HPE OneView to enable a more programmable infrastructure, and HPE Ops Analytics to predict issues and avoid outages. That frees up resources by automating, provisioning, patching, and orchestrating end-to-end processes like change management and disaster recovery. We can help you radically accelerate your application workflows so that you can go from idea to app to outcome faster. Become a service broker: Most IT organizations are looking to become an internal service provider that can broker apps and services regardless of where they are hosted. First let’s talk about deploying a private cloud. As the leader in private cloud, we have helped a lot of enterprises create flexible foundations that you can run or we can run for you. We are helping many of you improve user experience. With HPE, customers create a single catalog of all IT Services and apps. We offer solutions such as HPE Cloud Service Automation and HPE Propel, which is our self-service portal for delivering all of your IT services to end users. And finally, we can help you extend and modernize your cloud native apps with web scale, hyper-converged infrastructure – powered by Helion OpenStack. At HPE Discover Las Vegas, we announced that the industry’s #1 private cloud better than ever with the announcement of HPE Helion Cloudsystem 9. Empower developers: The final area where you can get started today is empowering your developers. This is important because we are living in an increasingly developer-driven world. One of the crown jewels of HPE is our portfolio of open platforms, management software and services for application development and delivery to help you make your developers more productive. If you are having a hard time finding developers with the right skill set, we have an army of experienced developers and transformation experts who can help accelerate your development and business objectives. Transform Enable Empower Protect your digital enterprise to a hybrid
infrastructure Proactively protect the interactions between users, applications and data across any location or device. In the Idea Economy, protection matters more than ever. Traditionally, this was about protecting apps and data - but the new school of thinking is, you need to protect the interactions And, no one is able to do this holistically the way HPE can! At HPE, we believe protecting your digital enterprise is about both managing risk, protecting digital assets and security. As said earlier – it’s about accelerating time to value. You have to move fast, but you have to do it without breaking things and, without putting your enterprise at risk. Nothing disrupts your time to value like risk. And in our digital world – risk is everywhere – and it’s increasing in diversity and complexity. Enable workplace productivity Empower the data-driven organization

Our digital world is radically changing the risk landscape
Sophisticated cyber attacks External disasters and internal failures Cost and complexity of data protection Regulatory pressures In the digital world – risk and threats are everywhere – and they are increasing in diversity and complexity. There is always a risk of natural disaster - a need for data protection and compliance - and we’re faced with more sophisticated cyber criminals In addition, new threats are emerging from hybrid and mobile, dissolving the traditional perimeter, scattering our data everywhere and creating new exposures across the internet of things. And with the mounting pressures, how do you ensure compliance and satisfaction of regulatory requirements while extending your reach, complexity of supply chain, and giving flexibility back to the business in the form of technology? Mobile and cloud dissolve the “perimeter” Hyper-connected sensors and devices create new exposures Massive data growth from multiple sources Regulatory, privacy and compliance concerns

It’s not a matter of if, it is a matter of when a breach will occur
Manage risk, because you can’t eliminate it Think like a bad guy Breaches are not events, they are processes The reality is, that in today’s world, it’s not a matter of IF, it is a matter of WHEN a breach will occur. It’s important to focus on managing risk, cause let’s be honest you can’t eliminate it. So you need a single view that balances regulatory requirements, cyber threats, asset protection and business change. Business users and customers won’t tolerate policies that eliminate risk, because that eliminates the benefits of the connected world The key is - protect the most important parts of your estate… Understand how people can access it and create policies and tools that users will work within Every day, we see how the bad guys are growing up – so we need to get smarter and think more like them We are no longer protecting ourselves against lone actors or hackers. Now we are up against cyber criminals and nation states. These are highly funded, organized groups that are motivated by profit or access to information. Today, effective protection requires insight into both the nature and motivation of attacks. Unfortunately, most businesses don’t know who is attacking them, why, or what they’re after. With our 5,000 security professionals, software assets and 10 global Security Operations Centers, HPE is learning more by the minute about - who the actors are, their tools and motivations Recently we formed a first of its kind partnership with <click> FireEye and Mandiant to bolster our capabilities in this space. Together, we are bringing incident response, compromise assessments and advanced threat management services to market to reduce client exposure, recover faster and reduce potential damage Finally, breaches are not events, they are processes Today, the worst breaches are not “one time attacks or thefts”. They are system vulnerabilities exploited over long periods of time. This means it is just as important to know when you’ve been breached, and how to shut it down, as it is to prevent the breach in the first place.

Protect your digital enterprise with Hewlett Packard Enterprise
In today’s environment, it is no longer enough to focus on only protecting infrastructure. We need to proactively protect the interactions between users, applications and data across any location or device. Our highly differentiated portfolio maps directly into these needs. It is aligned how IT organization are structured and run today. Ultimately, the HPE Security Portfolio enables new ways to do business. From our perspective the IT Lifecycle breaks down into 4 main categories: First, you have to know what’s coming. This is about being proactive, identifying vulnerabilities, assessment of your capabilities. Second, you need to secure your digital interactions by hardening your defenses – often at the code level. Third, detect and manage inevitable breaches. The is analytics as well as network security. There are other market categories here that we do not cover such as endpoint technologies. For these we partner with the leading security provider in the category. Finally, it’s extremely important to ensure business continuity and availability of your IT environments, systems and apps. This category includes disaster recovery and backup solutions as well as governance and compliance. Each of these 4 main security categories work together to secure your enterprise and enable you to move into the future and adopt new styles of IT. Protecting your enterprise by delivering outcomes
We help you see around the corner and understand the risks that most don’t see, beating the competition in vulnerability discovery 4x over. We see 100 billion correlated security events per month managed by HPE Enterprise Services for our clients. Our customers see 20% better ROI with Encryption from products such as Voltage and Atalla HPE Arcsight helps detect and manage inevitable breaches, resulting in: 85% reduction In IT outages and a 900% increase in resolved anomalies Finally, we help safeguard continuity and availability: with converged backup and recovery from StoreOnce, you gain 17x faster protection and 5x faster recovery than competitive solutions from EMC. So that is an overview on HP’s unique position in Protection. SUBSTANTATION FOR CLAIMS: HPE Security Research & Services #1 in public vulnerability discovery for 4th straight year Source: 100B correlated security events per month. Source: Total events ES manages for it’s clients. Events are correlated to known vulnerabilities, attack sources, types, ports, etc, to weed out false positives and identify those events that need further processing. HPE Atalla + HPE Voltage: 20% better ROI with Encryption Source: Up to 70% PCI Scope reduction. • Reduction in audit preparation time of more than 70%. • Decrease in QSA onsite time from 2 weeks to 3 days. • Up to 50% cut in remediation work and costs. • Projected overall audit related cost savings of more than $1 million. HPE Arcsight 85% reduction In IT outages Source: : Business Value Model Update and Benchmark KPI Methodology, IDC, H2 2013 900% increase in resolved anomalies Source: Lake Health case study - HPE StoreOnce 17x faster protection and 5x faster recovery Source: HPE comparing the published recovery performance of the 6500 to comparable high-end disk backup platforms from competitors 17x Faster Protection This ‘Express Protect’ capability reduces cost, reduces risk, and is 17x faster than traditional backup. How: Traditional backup architecture treat data protection as something completely separate from primary storage. In this world you utilize a dedicated backup ISV with an agent installed on an application server. Data goes from the primary storage device, through that backup server, and then gets sent to a backup target. All of these actions add cost, complexity, and time to your infrastructure. HPE is in the simplification business. In this case we’ve tightly integrated HPE 3PAR StoreServ flash storage and the HPE StoreOnce disk backup platform. HPE StoreOnce Recover Manager manages application snapshots on the 3PAR array and then automatically moves only the changed blocks at regular intervals directly to the StoreOnce target without having to engage an application server or backup software. Best of all you can setup the snapshots directly from VMware vCenter so it’s completely application integrated. 5x Faster Recovery Your business can be back up and running 5 times faster with HPE than with other disk backup platforms… backup is important but recovery is critical. How: Traditional disk backup systems have a single controller node and a large set of disks directly attached. This means that data can be protected and then restored only as fast as that single controller can operate. HPE StoreOnce 6500 is a scale-out design with up to 8 controllers meaning you can tap into more aggregate horsepower. In addition we’ve used analytics of historical backup jobs to build intelligence into the deduplication algorithm which lets us place data within the cluster in the optimal location to maximize deduplication ratios and recovery performance. Protect: International Criminal Court
Customer approval received 9/17/15, confirmed 10/21/15 Full story: The International Criminal Court is an intergovernmental organization and international tribunal that sits in The Hague in the Netherlands. The ICC has the jurisdiction to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. The ICC began functioning on 1 July 2002, the date that the Rome Statute entered into force. The Rome Statute is a multilateral treaty which serves as the ICC's foundational and governing document. Currently, there are 123 states which are party to the Rome Statute and therefore members of the ICC. The Challenge: The International Criminal Court (ICC) has a judicial obligation to preserve the volumes of information used in its investigations. It must ensure court records are stored appropriately and public records are available instantly to the court members, defense teams, and the myriad others involved in multinational cases of the ICC. The Solution: HPE ControlPoint automatically moved these critical files, along with relevant metadata, into HPE Records Manager. In addition any court records found on the file system that were duplicates of records in HPE Records Manager were placed in quarantine according to policy. Also, ICC worked closely with HPE to implement proof of concept around HPE ControlPoint that would secure judicial documents, tag operational documents, and dispose of duplicates. HPE ControlPoint is also helping ICC build the policies that will ensure all information is managed and stored appropriately, for example its macro retention policy. This policy identifies the master repository and the actions that need to be taken when duplicate documents are found. It also highlights how longmaterials should exist before they are removed. The Business Outcome: • Ensuring compliance • Reducing costs and saving time • Reducing legal, regulatory, and financial risks • Provides a clear picture of the court’s information architecture • Frees up resources to focus on higher value activities • Reduces storage capacity requirements • Classifies and categorizes information so it can be described in a common way. • Accelerate response to information requests, ensuring trials are not delayed • Eliminates risk from the proliferation of sensitive information • Safeguards judicial records, ensuring they are stored where their security, retention, and accessibility is ensured. Solution Details: HPE Records Manager Software; HPE ControlPoint; HPE ProLian BL servers, TS, Storage 123 High profile Safeguard States acknowledging court authority Trials reliant on rapid access to information Judicial records, ensuring they are stored where their security, retention, and accessibility is confirmed

Data fuels the New Style of Business
Data centers Voice/Video Documents Mobile apps Wearable devices Social networking Internet of things Sensors Big Data shift Human data Machine data Business data VOLUME OF DATA So that’s the journey you’ll need to go on that will begin to give you more than a paltry 10 – 15% ROI. But, before we examine this journey we must embark on, I believe it’s important that we go back and look at how we got here and why we need to go on this journey by looking at the fuel used and the engine that burns that fuel – in other words the fuel is data but something must government, manage, analyze, visualize and report on it. Fact of the matter is we’ve not changed much around information management and analytics in decades, most notably with the most important component of all – the database, at 37 year old architecture designed for handling what at the time seemed like really massive data going into the Gbyte range in records that were defined by rigid schemas, stored and accessed in ways that have created built in performance and cost bottlenecks. SQL queries are standardized and if you have lots of time to wait around for your answers to come back and actually know what you’re looking for work just fine. But if you need to search on context SQL won’t cut it. WE could go on but I think you get the point: our existing architectures when matched against the new data streams that move us into the 10s or 100s Terabyte and even in many cases Petabyte ranges just can’t keep up. The other problem is that because we weren’t really analyzing human data in a contextual way or trying to sift through non-traditional transactional data, meaning sure, we go back through sales figures, customer records for things like your credit card number but we weren’t interested in collecting 1 TB of data off a single cross country flight from a single jet engine or collection of 1 TB in a week of security log files for a large data center, or 5 million set-top box health reports collected from multiple key components in that set-top box, delivered every let’s say millisecond – do the math, you’ve got data . Looking at this type of data in real-time with people in the operational groups rather than by some business analyst in some ivory tower requires a different set of skills, in fact, not just one persons’ skills but several folks on a virtual team and automation of collection, aggregation and analysis of the data. Together, Human Data and Machine Data are growing 10x faster than traditional Business Data and this growth has created a technology gap. And in an idea economy the gap created by you not being able to innovate because you can’t get a clear, accurate picture in real-time, well your gap is simply nonlinear and can simply just jump up and bite you tomorrow. Your natural instinct may be to turn to your traditional data vendors but trying to extend the architectures designed for Business Data, but our customers are telling us those architectures aren’t scaling is extremely costly, takes considerable time, and still won’t enable you to unleash the creativity of your cross-functional teams at the operational level directly tied to your key projects and their operational KPIs. Technology and skills gap Data TIME

Enterprises realize only 10-15% of the expected value on their big data investments
Modernize Business Intelligence Integrate analytics with business applications Model, predict, and personalize customer experience Unfortunately, the reality is that Big Data under-delivers by 85-90% - leaving the benefit of your investment unrealized So how do you change that? According to survey’s of HPE customers - Enterprise realize only 10-15% of the expected value on their big data investments Many projects languish as science experiments, never applied at scale or reused at some level on multiple projects. There are several lessons we’ve learned from helping clients - but let me share three with you: First, don’t forget about your old friends your Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) or your Business Intelligence (BI) - modernize them – I’m not saying you need to replace them given all the investments in them and how tightly they are woven into your business, representing the critical information assets that underpin your strategies and day-to-day processes. Second, you need to drive continuous analytics into your business processes. Insights have to happen real time, and be embedded into the decision flow - not created as separate “events” often decoupled from your strategic level Enterprise-wide initiatives and more importantly you probably don’t have the ability to measure in real-time against the operational KPIs project by project within your various business units or horizontal business functions like HR, IT, Marketing and Sales let alone combine and understand all the data across them. Third, you have to optimize for the data you have today. This means optimizing your core infrastructure and hardware to allow for evolving data sources like social media, context rich data sources like natural language or voice and video streams and in most cases you’re probably not set up to handle integrating intelligence across and out to your internet of things. The net result is that both legacy data sources – your traditional dB, ECM, and disparate knowledge worker information and all of these new data types are not properly monetized for 2 reasons… they haven’t been properly combine data with existing data warehouses and BI tools nor are they being leveraged by the entirety of the business at the speed of business within the budgets of business. By doing these three things, you can realize more of the benefits from your data, turning it into insights for better outcomes and, eventually from insights into foresight, staying ahead of your competition and truly transforming to the New Style of Business Claim: Enterprise realizes only 10–15% of the expected value on their big data investments Source: HPE Enterprise Services 2015 survey of accounts and their opinions on various Big data investments

Empower data-driven organization with Hewlett Packard Enterprise
So that’s what we have in terms of a platform. Now, how do we move you along the road to being Data-Driven with it? What we constantly hear from our clients is that they have a lot of data, too much data in fact – and they don’t necessarily know where to start or even what’s possible. And they’re overwhelmed by it all, often times throwing it away or simply storing most of it without using it at all. We’ve established a best practice with our clients to define their strategy in a big data workshop. We create a sandbox platform that shows how a client’s data can be combined with external sources and more importantly, how this impacts their business Once you have your strategy, it’s about building the foundation. Most companies have multiple data warehouses and different forms of analytics spread across different platforms, and they struggle with how to effectively bring these together into one single platform that supports their strategy. The good news is that HPE Enterprise Services and HPE Technical Services can integrate with any platform and extract the data from applications which helps you protect your investment. In our experience, clients have had the most success when they have modernized their current EDW, ECM, BI environment and implemented HPE Haven as their foundation. Finally and most importantly big data is all about … insights. Insights that can iteratively improve business processes at the operational level in real-time. By embedding analytics across every aspect of your business… Not doing it in silos… You’ll be able to drive better outcomes and ultimately transform your business. Empowering innovation and improved outcomes
I started this section by saying that Big Data over promises and under-delivers. And while that’s true, many enterprises we work with are getting the benefit of their investment Take for example AT&T: Internal business clients demanded a robust analytics platform that could run required queries quickly and efficiently. HPE implemented Vertica and HPE Workload Optimization Services - this changed the economics of providing Actionable Insights to Decision Makers As a result, they achieved an ROI of 657% and the payback period was only 4 months – incredible! And with Dubai Police, they were challenged with a cumbersome, manual task where officers printed list of wanted plates, comb through lots and garages full of parked cars, and occasionally find a match. HPE implemented HPE IDOL for video recording and image recognition and they use automation to read license plate styles in English and Arabic to locate wanted vehicles efficiently. And with the new system have successfully capture 2,739 people locally and internationally, over 18 month period. Empower: One Kings Lane
Customer approval received 9/3/15 Background information: HPE Matter external interview: Video: Like a number of e-commerce newbies in 2009, One Kings Lane began as a flash-sale site. The limited-quantity, limited- time model provided an irresistible hook that was ideally suited for the immediacy of the Web. Since then, the home-decor site has expanded to include creative, themed sales (“We’re Craving,” “He’s the Man,” “Party On!”) and original articles and interviews, establishing the brand as a premier name in online home retail. After just three years, annual revenue was north of $200 million. One Kings Lane now has over 11 Million Members. One Kings Lane was set out to provide both the inspiration for customer’s living space and the ability to get those unique pieces and furnish customer’s rooms right away. Disruption is key in the Idea Economy. One Kings Lane disrupted the home furnishings industry where the only other options were brick and mortar stores or high end designers. One Kings Lane’s approach was to be very comfortable being uncomfortable, and also being able to experiment and fail fast. It’s assessing whether something is working or not, and then bending an idea and trying something new. Once you look at the results of your experiments, you’re able to judge and learn quickly. You must also be okay with the fact that there’s a lot you don’t know. Technology’s role in empowering a data driven organization includes cloud, mobile, big data and analytics all in one. This dramatically provides new experiences for their customers. One Kings Lane merges product information (SKUs, colors, styles, etc) with the product image to create their product catalog which makes the act of merchandising so much easier. They are able to analyze data about how customers shop and how they search the site. Seeing what is interesting to customers and what inspires them outside of the experiences that are unique to our site… Analyzing that and being able to marry it to our offering really helps us stay relevant. This is something that is precious to a company who’s #1 priority is customer interaction. The results are proof it is working. These events have to be flawless. To be flawless it takes technology know-how, integration skills, and a deep understanding of the business needs. The Idea Economy is an experience battlefield. Random acts of mobility will not deliver a significant shift in productivity
Be user centric Focus on reliability and performance Improve the user experience constantly, not episodically We want to help you proactively enable your employees with mobile applications and connectivity. Mobility provides a rare opportunity to reach customers directly Your customer’s experience with your mobile applications is critical to creating intimacy. Many enterprises today are in a reactive situation and we know that “random acts of mobility” are not delivering the business outcomes needed. HPE focuses its mobility work on being proactive and it focuses on the user. We create positive, simple experiences that are user-centric, reliable, and consistent No one continues to use a bad application - whether it be an airline app that gives you the wrong gate information, or a retail app that doesn’t update its inventory information fast enough A customer’s loyalty is derived from reliability, performance, and accuracy. The design must be end-to-end. It must incorporate the device, the network, the core application infrastructure, and it must be able to adapt in real time. To achieve radically different levels of productivity, we must think differently, act differently, and collaborate quickly to impact the business

A great example of this is our own implementation of Unified Communications and Microsoft Skype for Business hosted by HPE Our employees now click and create a conference call on the fly, which radically simplifies our ability to connect. As a result, we’ve earned back 5 million minutes of productivity from our employees and saved millions! These minutes are now spent meeting with our customers, designing new solutions, and driving our business forward. You, too, can free up resources to reinvest in your business and we can help! End user compute environments are complex, they bring critical information to all your employees. You have hundreds of business applications that need to run flawlessly in those environments and users that need to be on, 24x7x365 Optimizing the design, deployment and management of that environment is what we do at Hewlett Packard Enterprise The automation and self-service solutions we have along with support models have driven significant savings for our customers – up to 30%! This adds up to millions of dollars! Our solutions are also dramatically changing the business processes and workflows of organizations and improving the overall customer experience SUBSTANTIATION OF CLAIMS Up to 42% greater capacity for ac Wave 2 Source: That means 42% capacity for more users and more devices and at greater distances without sacrificing performance. Mobile First Workplace with Aruba: $11K savings per employee annually Source: The Mobile Generation, or #GenMobile, are causing a shift in the workplace. Employees are looking for flexibility and no longer want to be confined to a fix desk, or office. Aruba delivers the secure mobility solutions, including leading Gigabit Wi-Fi technologies, for the all mobile office. This technology allows enterprises to go all mobile – removing desk phones in favor of mobile UCC solutions like Microsoft Lync and allowing companies to save money on offices. Gartner estimates that companies can save $1 million per every 100 workspaces optimized for mobility. Furthermore, Aruba itself saved $4 million over 4 years (or $1000 per employee) by moving from fixed desk phones to mobile collaboration. Combining the shift to Mobile UC and optimization for mobile workspaces, we can help organizations save $11,000 per user annually. Conference call simplification via HPE Services: 5M minutes returned to focus on customers Source: HPE Unified Communications & Collaboration Services implementation. The speed to set up a community, regular meetings, instant meetings, instant teleconferences, instant video conferences or shared documents / desktop is two or three clicks with Lync now versus what it was in the past from seconds. The joining of one of these from your laptop/desktop/tablet/mobile is click and connect versus dial a number, wait for prompts, enter 7-9 digits or wait for operator assistance and join. Another whole set of activities for getting a virtual room working and the plug-ins and connection needs. Easily 1 minute in the old world. I used the stats from HPIT but they are very consistent with other projects we have implemented. It is consistent with implementations with other Lync customers that fully integrate their solutions across the workplace and directory services. IT success with HPE solutions
50% reduction when deploying new applications using HPEN switches and routers 21 days to 4 hrs average improvement in time to provision internal requests through HPE’s private cloud Performed queries 1,000 times faster using Vertica 80% less space required in our data centers by installing Moonshot 6,000 devices removed from global data center footprint 56% increase in initial storage array allocation by 3PAR “Get thin & stay thin” capabilities 86 manager and employee processes standardized in 106 countries Keeping a Fortune 20 company such as ours, with more than $100 billion in revenue, more than 250,000 employees, residing in 170 countries, across different sites, with billions of transactions with employees and 440,000 internal mailboxes running on 396,000 PCs… this is no easy task! With the size and scale of HPE, it goes without saying that it takes a massive infrastructure to meet the internal and external IT demands of the New Style of Business. We act as the first customer to validate our enterprise products. This is better for the customer since we can identify any issues proactively and address them. Currently, we utilize more than 1,400 HPE networking routers, 20,000 HPE switches, and more than 65,000 servers. We also have two EcoPOD data centers, and a massive amount of HPE 3PAR, XP and EVA storage. The amount of data that passes through our networks is enormous. The breadth and design of this infrastructure is not the result of adding hardware on an ad hoc basis; in fact, it’s the result of a carefully orchestrated IT transformation that was necessary to handle the volume of information flow that takes place within HPE today. While the size and scale of HPE’s infrastructure is impressive, it was not always so organized and well-contained. Over time, we began to accumulate data centers to accommodate the compute, storage and networking that was needed to run such a large company. A few years ago, however, it became evident that such data center sprawl was not cost effective for the company, and we opted to consolidate all 85 data centers that were located throughout the world, down to four next-generation data centers all based within the United States. This was just the first step in helping HPE realize greater efficiencies throughout the data centers. HPE has a significant IT infrastructure to support its global business. For example: 89PB of storage installed/deployed – that’s a lot of storage!!. We provide tiering within the arrays (puts the data on the most cost effective storage solution within an array). EcoPods – portable data center space; a much less expensive, higher density data center space (or extension to an existing data center) option. 65K active servers – running HPE Unix, Linux, and Windows. 9.9 PB data replicated per day – data is replicated real time, to provide site-to-site failover within a city (e.g., Houston to Houston, Austin to Austin). Transition: Now you should have a better idea on how we can help your IT enable the New Style of Business. No other company can provide the connective tissue for companies transitioning to this huge shift. No other company has the strength and experience in hardware, software and services. We make it, we back it and we service it. 90% improvement to average scan time using 30 minutes to provision new systems 71% increase in year over year Grey Market recovery 45 days to minutes reduction in database provisioning time through DBaaS 95% of servers are now built in less than 2 hours through HPE’s private cloud 1.0 B security events monitored per day with 30% reduction to physical record storage footprint 9.9 PB storage replicated
