2  A Germanic tribe from just beyond the Rhine River.  Barbarians tried to settle in Gaul (France) but were beat back by the Romans   When Rome was off fighting other battles the MEROVECHS snuck over and united with other tribes (by force – not choice)

4  United Frankish tribes form the kingdom of FRANKIA  It is a familial dynasty not its own people  When the Romans were in Gaul they educated a number of “barbarians”, the King took these people into the government to help them copy the Roman example  It worked for so long -why not?
