Academic Credential Verification Important to provide ALL Transcripts GPA will be calculated for: -Science Courses (Science/BCPM) -Non-Science Courses -All Courses -By Academic year -By Subject -By degree (Undergrad, Post-Bac, Master’s, etc.)

Data Entry Important to enter all data correctly Parent Information can be helpful Disadvantaged Status is self reported Race & Ethnicity Status is self reported Grammar and style matter

Activities and Experiences Typically only that are post-high school Choose among all your experiences: -Employment -Research -Volunteer/Service -Clinical -Leadership Depth is often better than breadth Don’t exaggerate/stretch the truth

Personal Statements 1 Statement for AMCAS/AACOMAS Secondary statements will be varied/multiple Get feedback and use a writing process These are used to evaluate communication skills Don’t “cut and paste”

Letters of Recommendation AMCAS-LOR sent to AMCAS AACOMAS-LOR sent directly to schools Understand what kind of letters are required Know how many letters are required

Where to apply? Talk with your Advisor Read the MSAR and CIB Consider your “in-state” schools Apply broadly but wisely Average number of AACOMAS Applications=8 Average number of AMCAS Applications=14
