PowerPoint Hints and Tips – Term 4 2006 Sydney Region To add Multiple Pictures to a SlideShow Macintosh Computers will need a plugin-in to add this functionality which can be found at the following site: http://www.agentjim.com/MVP/PowerPoint/ppt2004.htmhttp://www.agentjim.com/MVP/PowerPoint/ppt2004.htm 1. Open PPT - this process will start a NEW slideshow with Multiple Pictures. 2. Choose Insert Menu (dropdown) -> selecting Picture -> New Photo Album (you may need to choose expand menu to see this selection as viewed below.

3. Choose File/Disk button to browse to the location of where pictures are that you want to include in a slideshow.

4. Select multiple pictures with Shift or Option + MouseClick, before you press Insert.

5. In the following Photo Album options you can rearrange the order of slides, their orientation, basic contrast and brightness levels PLUS picture layout choices.

Once you have selected “Create” all the Picture Slides and any Text Box Slides you have selected are added including a front end Title Slide, which can be selected and edited to make it appropriate. 7. In the example above the last slide is a “New Text Box” slide which fills the slide with text that is vertically centred and left justified. Changing the background to black & applying to all slides reduces white space distractions.

8. In the example above “Picture layout” was altered to include 4 pictures with a Master applied through browsing to an appropriate template (.POT).

No matter how you enter Pictures into a PowerPoint presentation you should compress all your pictures by choosing either through right clicking on a picture and choosing Format Picture (Autoshape) -> Picture -> Compress OR enabling the View -> Toolbars ->Picture (toolbar) where you can select the following icon

10. Make sure ‘All pictures in document’ is selected, plus resolution set to Web/Screen

11. The following properties grabs show how compressing pictures can change a large folder of pictures taking up 29.2Mb, reducing it down in a.PPT to less than 1Mb.
