British food and eating habits
“Harry’s mouth fell open. The dishes in front of him were now piled with food. He had never seen so many things he liked to eat on one table: roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops and lamb chops, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, gravy, ketchup and, for some strange reason, mint humbugs.”

Yorkshire pudding Yorkshire Pudding, also known as batter pudding, is an English dish made from batter consisting of eggs, flour, and milk. The dish is usually served with roast meat and gravy and is a staple of the traditional British Sunday roast.

Roast meats Typical meats for roasting are lamb, pork, beef or a whole chicken they are generally served with different kinds of sauces.

Fish and chips Fish and chips is a take-away food that consists of battered fish, commonly Atlantic cod or haddock, and deep-fried chips, sometimes accompanied by mushy peas

Chicken tikka masala Chicken tikka masala  is a dish of roasted chunks (tikka) of chicken in a spicy sauce. The sauce is usually creamy, spiced and orange-coloured. It includes tomato and either cream or coconut cream and various spicies.

Bubble and squeak Bubble and squeak is a traditional British dish made with the shallow-fried leftover vegetables from a roast dinner. The main ingredients are potato and cabbage, but carrots, peas, Brussels sprouts, or any other leftover vegetables can be added. The chopped vegetables (and cold chopped meat if used) are fried in a pan together with mashed potatoes or crushed roast potatoes until the mixture is well-cooked and brown on the sides. The dish is so named because it makes bubbling and squeaking sounds during the cooking process
