4 Key Stage Components The District Technology Plan will support and foster the development of a technology enabled environment as well as help to maintain a focus on LAUSD priorities and chief initiatives.

5 Stage 1 - Foundation Building l Development of LAUSDnet l Provided Instructional Technology Applications Facilitators (ITAF) in each cluster l Increase number of Digital High Schools l Plan instructional technology strategies l Align E-Rate and Bond BB initiatives

6 Stage 2 - Technology Integration l Professional Development Programs –Application of technology to enhance instruction l Integration of wide-area and local-area networks l Consolidation of district information systems

7 Stage 3 - Universal Technology l Technology used as a tool to: –Enhance students’ ability to use reading and mathematics skills –Effectively prepare students for the workplace and for “lifelong learning” –Receive timely information to design effective student learning strategies –Communicate!

18 2000-2001 Technology Goals l By June 30, 2001 complete Year 3 E-Rate projects to provide; –high speed network access to classrooms (fiber optic) as a foundation for data, voice and video transmission –standards-based, consistent technology professional development
