Go Home The man from whom the demons had departed kept begging Him to be with Him. But He sent him away and said, “Go back to your home, and tell all that God has done for you.” And off he went, proclaiming throughout the town all that Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:38-39

Where’s My Home Is it the town you were born in? Is it the town where your parents live now? Is it the town where you live now? The struggle for students to feel at home in college is tied to how you answer that question!

The Backstory Jesus encounters a crazy, demon possessed dude Jesus has a conversation with both the man and the demons! The demons beg not to be destroyed and they get their wish, they get to be drowning pigs instead! The pig herders rush to tell everyone what has happened The whole town comes out to see what is going on

The Content They find the man clothed, sitting at the feet of Jesus and in his right mind! When we come to Jesus, He gives us the right mind too and a new purpose. The people of the town are frightened not by the demon possessed man any more but by the one who sets people free from the demons that haunt them!

The Outcome Jesus honors their wish to leave them The man rightly wants to come with Jesus But Jesus refuses to allow him to come with them instead sending him back to his home to tell them of what Jesus has done for him!

The Call Have you been set free by Jesus? Would you like to say yes to His call tonight? The first place and often the toughest test of our faith that Jesus sends us to is our home Are you willing to be a light to your home? Are you willing to be a light to your new home?

The Call Are you willing to set up a gospel conversation with someone on your dorm floor or in your apartment complex? How about with someone in your class or study group? Are you willing to set up a study group of Christians and invite non-believers to join you? Are you willing to face your fears and do it anyway?

Shining like Stars In Philippians 2:15 Paul writes, “Do everything without grumbling and arguing, 15 so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world. Jesus’ Love is what makes us RADIATE It doesn’t matter how dark the night is if you are made to GLOW IN THE DARK, in fact it makes you stand out more!
