Causes of His sorrow:
Not accepted by men v.2-3
He bore our griefs & sorrows v.4
He was afflicted by God v.4
He suffered for our sins v.5
He suffered by bearing our sins v.6 God laid on Him the iniquity of us all 1 Peter 2:21-25

Jesus groaned because Mary wept v.33; v.3-16 it was necessary to let Lazarus die
Our sorrow is necessary; it grieves Jesus

5. Sorrow Sorrow is a God-given emotion
