6 Monitor UK: data aggregation › An application that aggregates and presents data analytics › Enables institutions to share and learn from cost and compliance data relating to their Open Access publications by the ‘Gold’ route › Provides new and convenient ways to access and use the data and a level of business intelligence not otherwise available › Will run in the cloud for appropriate security 6

7 Monitor UK Benefits » The benefits will be of interest in a number of contexts: › Institutions › Jisc Collections › Funders › Monitor UK will be compliant with established profiles for data exchange (notably RIOXX) and will map incoming data to standard names (notably publishers and funders) 7

8 Monitor UK Flexibility » Participating institutions are able to supply data from a variety of alternative sources, depending on their local practices and systems: › From Monitor Local › From an alternative system › From a spreadsheet › https://www.jisc.ac.uk/rd/projects/monitoring-open- access-activity https://www.jisc.ac.uk/rd/projects/monitoring-open- access-activity 8
