2. Presentation on British culture to the children of Skalby School Alongside a chance for students to practice their English, the following topics were addressed: Music Beautiful people Film & literature National Sports and Playground Games Food History, Heritage and peculiar traditions Quiz

3. Findings Highly impressed with Resources. DT and Music fantastic. Massage sessions. Lunch hall and service is fantastic. Discrete subject teaching with subject specific teachers. Teachers more friendly and approachable, on first name basis with students, which forms part of the informal nature witnessed. Relaxed, less structured attitudes.

4. Findings Potential learning locked within unutilised resources. No obvious individualised learning and less differentiation, which has been seen to cause behavioural issues. 10 week summer break perhaps too long as the first two to three weeks return is focused on reminding children what they learnt pre-summer. Holiday periods – inconsistent for learning Whole school assemblies Lack of respect for teachers Few classroom assistants

5. The best of both… We would like to build a ‘happy-medium’ of the two varying methods to teaching. Pace – somewhere in between both Time – ability to revisit a task Discrete Teaching – focus on discretely teaching the creative subjects, languages, massage Relationships – with students, a balance of friendly but firm approach
