1. The USE (Unified State Examination or Russian State Exam or EGE) Tkacheva S.V. School # 95

2. The USE(Unified State Examination) was introduced in 2001.

3. Since 2009 USE is the only form of final exams at school and the basic form of the entrance exams.After passing the exam to all participants are issued a certificate of the results of USE.

4. The principal feature of the new examination process is its uniformity. No matter what part of the country students live in, everybody will be given the same test at the same level of difficulty.

5. There are three main types of questions: - multiple-choice, -open-ended, - expand-answer questions, which are externally marked with the help of electronic technology and members of a special exam commission.

6. USE is held in 14 subjects: the Russian language, mathematics, foreign languages (English, German, French, Spanish), physics, chemistry, biology, geography, literature, history, social science, computer science.

7. The Russian language and mathematics are compulsory exams.

8. KIMs( Gauging materials) for Foreign languages consist of: Part1. Listening ( 3 tasks) – 30 minutes Part 2. Reading ( 3 tasks)- 30 minutes Part 3. Use of Language ( Grammar and Vocabulary) ( 3 tasks)-40 minutes Part 4. Writing. ( 2 tasks- a personal letter and an essay).-60 minutes Total time: 160 minutes.

9. Task 1- for basic level ( базовый) Task 2 – for upper level ( повышенный) Task 3 – for advanced level ( продвинутый) Maximum points- 100 Minimum points- 20.
