What is CPR/First Aid? CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation). CPR/First Aid is the procedure carried out to keep the heart pumping and oxygen flowing until the emergency care arrives. The first aid technique is the combination of rescue breaths and compressions.

When do you carry out CPR/First Aid? This procedure can only be carried out in case when someone become unconscious (not breathing).

What causes cardiac arrest? A disturbance in the heart rhythm Drugs/poisoning Heart disease / a heart attack Traumatic injury/blood loss

Why is first Aid important? First Aid is incredibly important, because you can rescue someone who suffers from accidents and illnesses that are treatable with a basic first aid procedure. Helps relieve pain. Prevents the situation from becoming worse. Increases safety. Makes people more secure.
