Strengthen relationship between AASL National and State Affiliates TimelineEvent June 2014New Strategic Plan- Goal: Grow and strengthen AASL’s community- specifically the relationship with state affiliates MW 2015Facilitated Harwood Exercise: Asking the state affiliates what their aspirations were for the affiliate assembly Annual 2015Leadership Conference- content developed from MW Harwood material MW 2016New Affiliate Assembly structure developed- to include an aspiration exercise Annual 2016Continued “mini” Leadership Conference and follow-up Harwood exercise based on MW15 outcomes

Strengthen relationship between AASL National and State Affiliates Outcomes: 1) AASL and Affiliate become stronger 2) Leaders will rise faster 3) Concerns will be addressed earlier and have greater impact. MOST IMPORTANT: As Affiliates are given additional tools and resources (they ask for through their ‘aspirations’) the services they offer to school librarians within their state expands and AASL’s mission to empower leaders to transform teaching and learning is met.
