2 Replication Repeating a study and checking to see if the same results are produced each time. Theory Systematic explanation for the observations that relate to a particular aspect of life.

3 Variable Logical groupings of attributes. Attribute Characteristics or qualities that describe an object.

4 Independent variable A variable that is presumed to cause or determine a dependent variable. Dependent variable A variable that is assumed to depend on or is caused by another variable.

5 Idiographic An approach to explanation in which we seek to exhaust the idiosyncratic cause of a condition or event. Nomothetic An approach to explanation in which we seek to identify a causal factors that impact a class of conditions or events.

6 Induction Logical model in which general principles are developed from specific observations. Deduction Logical model in which specific expectations of hypotheses are developed on the basis of general principles.
