CSOEM Task Group on ASTM Material Specifications for Oil and Gas Applications Develop a material specifications for low alloy steel forgings, forged bar and rolled bar used in oil and gas applications Grades covered: F22, 4130 Modified, 8630 Modified Led by Lester Burgess (Texas Screw Products) NDE Requirements for Bar & Tube Missing or varying requirements to be standardized, including test methods Led by John Elwell (HOWCO)

CSOEM API 6A 21st Ed. & NACE MR0175 Materials Issues 6A - Elimination Of Austenitic Stainless Steels Ring Groove Overlays 6A - Addition of Alloy 625 Overlay Minimum Thickness Requirements 6A - Alloy 625 Overlay Composition Requirements MR0175 - CRA Overlay Composition Requirements Led by Tim Haeberle (GE) Grade 660 Elevated Temp Tensile Testing Unrealistic derating values in API 6A Appendix G and API TR6MET for ASTM A453 Grade 660 (A286) stainless steels Stronger material at higher temps Grade 660 derating values were removed from Appendix G in API 6A Errata 6 Led by Tim Haeberle (GE) – active

CSOEM API Bolting Specification Needs In response to BSEE, API is implementing new bolting spec requirements The objective is to prevent H-embrittlement failures in marine environments The issue is being addressed somewhat independently in each of the API SC’s Led by Tim Haeberle (GE) OCTG Near-Yield Cyclic Response Assess impacts of near-yield cyclic loading on subsequent response of selected P110 OCTG material Potential for strength reduction has been considered relevant for further optimization of test procedures recommended by API 5C5/ISO 13679 Led by Garret Meijer (Noetic Engineering Inc.)
