Background Microsoft Access and Discoverer are the two query tools that have been with FIMS Microsoft Access Has been in use with FIMS since 1995 Requires the Oracle 9i client Requires HQ firewall rule modifications Database passwords change every 90 days – requires downloading new file Discoverer Has been in use with FIMS since 2006 Web based Requires java runtime initiator Requires HQ firewall rule modifications Requires site firewall rule modifications for port access

FIMS Hotline Ad-Hoc query issues account for a large portion of the FIMS Hotline calls/emails Connectivity/software issues with Access Discoverer account issues Assistance developing ad-hoc queries Password changes on Access database files Always actively pursuing solutions to recurring issues

New FIMS Ad-Hoc Tool Desire to develop a tool that satisfies 60-70% of possible query requests New Ad-Hoc query tool will have: No dependency on any software No firewall rule modifications needed (Headquarters or Site) No password issues No need to access an external application to query FIMS data No need to maintain an additional login account (Discoverer) Query capability just a few clicks away once logged into FIMS Easy to use capabilities and built for any level user

New FIMS Ad-Hoc Tool FIMS Ad-hoc query tool was deployed in March 2009 Easy to use filters are in place Property Type Program office Office/Site Ownership Status Results are exported to Excel From Excel, data can be sorted, breaks and sub-totals can be added This new tool is not meant to do everything that can be accomplished with Access and Discoverer Access and Discoverer are still available Anticipate further enhancements to the FIMS Ad-Hoc tool as usage evolves

Year-end Snapshot Access Access to the FIMS year-end snapshot data will now be available Access to this data will be available via the FIMS Ad-hoc query tool, Microsoft Access, and Discoverer Currently have 2007 and 2008 snapshot data available to query Designed with flexibility to easily add additional data fields to the list of available columns
