Since DT now holds more than 90 percent of the shares in its Internet subsidiary, it is now legally possible to merge the two companies without approval of the DT shareholders' meeting. Now all that is required is for T-Online shareholders to agree to the planned merger at their annual meeting at the end of April. Subsequently, DT can apply for the merger to be entered into Germany's trade registry. Eick expects the merger to be completed by the end of the third quarter of this year.
