Tuesday, Mar. 24 th 224 3/24/15 Tues. L.T.: I can define and show how individual, population, and community relate to one another. DO NOW: Make a Venn diagram of: 1) individual, population, and community. (Make sure you draw your circles large enough to write in.) ……………………………….. Reflection: Did I make my DO NOW Venn Diagram using the ideas I had coming into class? Did I read the article and use info from it to fill in my right side chart? 2 nd period Individual: one of a certain species Population: Part of environment. More than one animal that’s in a certain area Community: Populations of different organisms that interact …………….. Ecosystem: I give people paper and pencils and rulers Abiotic is non-living so it has to be dead.

3 rd period definitions Individual: we’re our own community; we’re a place to live; population Community: means that we support more than 1-2 people; we help everyone. Food, fertilization, animals Population: travels in a pack and are in a community; prarie dog; travels in our own pack …………………………………………… Ecosystem: trees give oxygen to animals, animals give carbon dioxide to the trees, all are a part of nature Abiotic Factors: non-living, elements: for example, water, fire, clouds, lightning, rocks

4 th period Individual: singular, loner, by yourself Population: plural; they are all multiple living things like: frogs, mushrooms, deer, etc. Community: We are multiple living things and there is multiple types of our living things like trees, flowers, bees, etc. …………………………………. Ecosystem: If any animals live in our habitats they could live there. Abiotic Factors: non-living

5 th period Individual: has to be singular. By itself. Population: If there’s not enough mice, the things that it eats will over populate… I believe that chickadees are a part of population because there is a multiple of chickadees. Community: something with populations of animals and plants ……………………………………….. Ecosystem: butterflies, bees, and flowers; elodea and guppies; plants and animals; kind of make a home Abiotic factors: all affect an ecosystem, non-living
