Africa Maps The Maps are 2-sided Label the first side political and the second side geographic Find and identify (write down) these five rivers on both sides: look at page 113 for help. – Senegal – Congo – Niger – Nile – Zambezi Place these notes on the top of the political map – Africa is the second largest continent on earth. It is 4 times the size of the U.S. – Africa is home to over 400,000,000 people in 52 countries. Copy down the political countries from page R37. Do not go south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Africa Maps For the Geographic Maps, you are going to copy the environment maps from page 114 onto the second page of your map. In your groups, use 5 colored pencils to fill in these different areas. Make sure to add a legend at the bottom of the page! When you are done, turn in your map and begin working on the ch 5.1 worksheet for B Block

Africa Unit Due Dates Jan 11/12: Ch 5 Quiz (15 questions) Jan 18/19: Africa Map Quiz Jan: 20/21: Africa Unit Vocab Due Jan 25/26: Semester exam/Africa Unit exam Jan 25/26: Africa portfolios We will be doing a semester exam, and the Africa unit test will be part of this test. After the test, we will be putting our portfolios together.

Africa Geography: Survivorman Geography or climates (4-6 different elements) How might this create challenges for people who live here? -High Grasses -Heavy Rains -Dense Forests -Hot, dry weather - Savanna Plains -High Grasses are difficult to walk through, and are also difficult to build a community. -Heavy rains can ruin crops, or floods may ruin homes.
