- Insolation (incoming solar radiation) is composed of infrared, visible, and ultraviolet wavelengths of energy.

absorbed by the ground and re-radiated back towards space as infrared heat.
reflected by the atmosphere (Albedo effect)

7. II. Causes of Global Warming
A) The burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil,
& gas) releases CO2 into the air.

photosynthesis.

CO2 into the air. (forest fires)

10. D) Cattle, termites, & rice fields
release large amounts of Methane
into the air.

A) Shift in temp. and rainfall patterns.

major storms due to temperature extremes.

13. Melting of polar ice caps and flooding of coastal areas.
