2  He didn't like slavery  Slavery separated his family from him  He became friends with his masters  His master was never unkind to him  He was going to Baltimore with his masters  His masters bought him clothes for the trip  They took a ship their  The Aldus greeted him at the door  Soon they knew each other well  When he was six year old Mrs. Auld was teaching him  He leaned after one day  Mr. Auld was crying  He met friends and they were nice to him  He found a spelling book outside in the trash  He had to hide from his master  He made money for shinning shoes  When he was a teen he worked at a shipyard  He tried to escape but he was beat and whipped  He fought back and won  Abraham wanted to talk to him about his newspaper the north star  He continued to give speeches all over the country

3  1818- born in Maryland  1824-went on a ship to live with the Aulds  1833- started a school for African Americans  1840s and the 1850s-escaped from slavery and gave speeches around the country  1877-went to district Columbia for the marshal  1881- records of dead in Colombia  1889-went to Haiti to post for of marshal  1895-he died
