Curley’s Wife Only woman on ranch Alone, isolated Not allowed to talk to anyone Not her home Everyone is mean to her However – she is young/healthy and has power b/c she is a white woman.

Crooks Black Lives in barn, segregated Physically handicapped Old However – he is allowed to talk/interact

George Taking care of Lennie (he has a choice) He chooses to be with Lennie If he gets rid of Lennie, he’s not complete (symbiotic)/alone Feels the pain of Lennie’s loss

Lennie Do you have to know or understand oppression to be oppressed? He doesn’t know. Not unhappy/not weighted down Has most potential Unchangeable – won’t be smart (would rather be Lennie – dies with the dream)
