What is the Pancreas? The Pancreas is a organ in the digestive system and the endocrine system (gland system). The pancreas realise three blood sugars called insulin, glucagons and somatostatian. You can only find the pancreas in vertebrates.

What's its function? The pancreas is located below the stomach its function is to make enzymes for digestive purposes. it also makes hormones for the blood stream but if the pancreas doesn’t produce these hormones this is how diabetes start because there isn’t enough or too much sugar in the blood stream. Sugar is a fuel for all the organs and the pancreas provides the sugar.

What do the enzymes do? The enzymes that the pancreas produce help the digestive system to digest carbohydrates, proteins, fat and chyme.

How can you prevent diabetes?
Buy a machine to check sugar levels Lose weight if you are over weight Eat healthy food If you have high blood sugar cut down on sugar If you have low blood sugar eat more sugar.
