Finding Funding You need to consistently find funding: What are some ways of funding? Budget funds from profits Obtaining investors You need to convince that their investment will be profitable. Return on Investment (ROI): the income from a venture that is distributed to investors. What are some sources of revenue from sports and entertainment?

Financing Ventures Forecast A report to predict the expenses to be incurred and revenues to be received from an event Budget A plan for how available funds will be spent. Used to control costs so they do not exceed the funds available. Usually prepared for 1 fiscal year and broken down into monthly segments

Financial Statements Reports that show the financial condition of the business Balance Sheet Shows the company’s assets and liabilities at a specific point in time Difference between assets and liabilities is the company’s net worth Income Statement Shows all revenues received and all expenses incurred over a period of time Difference between revenues and expenses is the company’s profit

Why is this all important? Investors will want to see the forecasts, budgets, and financial statements before making a decision to invest in one of the sports and entertainment ventures.
